REBECCA'S CHILDREN.
Rebecca has a wonderful work with the Children at the Campos Sales Church and in the public school near by. Her tireless efforts in taking the gospel to them has made her a key witness to teachers, children and leaders in our community. Pray for her as she tries to organize an even bigger group to reach into the public schools all over Manaus.

Campos Sales suburb is located about 30 kilometers north west of down town Manaus. It was invaded with squatters three years ago and went from about 4,000 residents to 25,000 over night, causing many social economic problems including an explosion of crime and disease.

Building has finally begun on our auditorium. We have been meeting in the pavilion for the last eight years. During this time we have suffered many set backs due to the city hall and other problems. The church has been saving for the last eight years and we are praying that we can dry the building in before the money runs out.
Headed for the church with some building materials.
We begin early in the day before the heat makes it almost unbearable. This picture was taken at 06.00 hours.

Preparing the footers before taking them to the church so that they will not get stolen.

Footers in place
Digging for the skirting.
More digging.
Building the rings for the skirting....3200 of them...one at a time.

Skirting in place, concrete at ground level...time for the forms to go in.
Building the forms for columns and skirting.
Our building material is the white sand you see in the center of the picture, and small rocks next to the sand. One wheel barrow load of sand, two of rock and one hundred pounds of cement mixed together will be our foundation.
Our two cement mixers.

CURRENT EVENTS:
Rebecca was given a clean bill of health in the month of June after a one year treatment for leprosy. We praise the Lord for his goodness and that he allowed her to be cured from that dreaded disease. She came down with dengue fever in February of 2011 and we spent three and one half months in the USA to let her recuperate and be gone during the dengue epidemic that swept Manaus. She is recuperating and is back into the church work and public school. We thank all of those who prayed in her behalf.
